Hess Unveils Holiday Toy Truck

November 02, 2009 - NEW YORK -- Hess Corp. unveiled the newest addition to its iconic collection of annual holiday toy trucks with the 2009 Hess Race Car and Racer, which mark the 45th anniversary of the program. The 2009 Hess Race Car and Racer will be available for sale Nov. 13, at participating Hess and Hess Express retail stores, and will retail for $24.99 plus tax, including Energizer batteries.

The 2009 Race Car is the first time since 1993 that a car will be featured as the holiday toy. In 1993, the Hess Toy Truck was a Patrol Car, and went on to become the fastest-selling Hess Toy Truck ever, according to the company. And for the first time in Hess Toy Truck history, a race car will be the main featured vehicle. It features a touch-release canopy compartment that holds a smaller, faster race car powered by a pull-back racing motor and working lights.

The Hess Toy Truck program began in 1964, and as in past years, the truck will be sold exclusively at Hess retail stores in 16 East Coast states while supplies last.
