Dunkin' Donuts Adds Three Sandwiches to its Menu

By Stacy Straczynski

November 02, 2009 - CANTON, Mass. -- Dunkin' Donuts is expanding its lunchtime lineup. The coffee and doughnut chain will add three new sandwiches and wraps to its menu -- two chicken and one tuna. These debuted in select Dunkin' stores throughout the Northeast today.

The two new chicken sandwiches and wraps -- the Original Chicken Sandwich and the Bacon Jack Chicken Sandwich -- are now available to New England and upstate New York customers. The Original Chicken Sandwich includes ranch sauce and Monterey Jack cheese, while Dunkin's Bacon Jack Chicken also includes bacon slices.

Wrap versions, sold on a flour tortilla, retail for a suggested price of $1.49 to $1.79, and croissant sandwiches retail at a suggested price of $2.49 to $2.99.

Dunkin' Donuts also launched today in its New York Metro area locations a tuna sandwich item, which features tuna salad on a toasted bagel. The sandwich, which comes with or without cheese, retails for $2.99.

"Customers want new choices to keep them going throughout their afternoon and evening without compromising on convenience, quality or taste," said Dunkin' Donuts Executive Chef Stan Frankenthaler in a statement. "By expanding our variety of afternoon offerings to complement our current menu items, Dunkin' Donuts customers have more ways to keep themselves running any time of day."

Dunkin' Donuts began introducing breakfast sandwiches in early 2005, later expanding its menu to include toasted sandwiches and pizza items in 2006, as previously reported by Brandweek. Current sandwich selections include Chicken Parmesan, Ham & Swiss, Turkey Cheddar & Bacon and Grilled Cheese.
