Crawford Oil Earns Community Service Award

HOUSTON -- Shell Oil Products US honored Las Vegas-based Crawford Oil in Shell’s Western Region with its exclusive Pecten & Pearl Award, which recognizes Shell wholesalers who demonstrate excellence in philanthropy, volunteer work and community service achievements while representing the Shell brand.

Rick Crawford, CEO of Crawford Oil, accepted the award from Hugh Cooley, general manager national wholesale, for Shell Oil Products, during ceremonies held at the 2004 Shell National Wholesale Conference in San Antonio.

Crawford is also the founder of Midjit Market Inc., which operates Green Valley Grocery, a chain of 24 convenience stores, based in Las Vegas.

"This award recognizes Shell wholesalers whose exceptional actions go above and beyond in delivering the Shell experience to customers by including the community at large," said Cooley. "We are proud of Crawford Oil and recognize them with the Pecten & Pearl Award for continual devotion of time and effort to serving Las Vegas."

For many years, Crawford Oil has primarily focused its charitable efforts on the Las Vegas chapter of the YMCA. "I am honored to be recognized by Shell Oil Products for my ongoing efforts in support of the YMCA of Southern Nevada, which supports thousands of youths, seniors and families annually," said Crawford, who currently serves as the head of the YMCA chapter’s board.

Shell Oil Products US and Motiva Enterprises LLC have given the Pecten & Pearl Awards for two years to reiterate the importance of outstanding representation of the Shell brand in the community.
