Corona and Miller Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with Flair

SAN ANTONIO-- Corona and the Modelo family of beers are asking customers to “Get Their Cinco Started” and kick off the summer selling season sooner rather than later.

“Corona is the first thing that comes to mind when customers think Cinco de Mayo,” said Don Mann, marketing group general manager at The Gambrinus Company. “The promotion has been a standout retail event since we first created it back in the 1980s. In bigger terms, nowadays, we want Corona to be the first thing to come to mind when they think celebration and relaxation.”

Two television spots and a two new radio spots will hit the air on April 17 and run through May 5. The radio will run in 35 markets and the TV will air on network cable, late night and syndicated TV.

The two new Cinco de Mayo radio spots feature 60 seconds of upbeat music with a Latin flare. The male lead sings about “Corona Extra with a lime” and “the perfect time for a Cinco de Mayo fiesta.”

Corona will also provide off-premise tools to drive traffic including vibrant pennants, static clings, grocery displays, standees, banners, image columns, case cards, header cards and corobuffs. On-premise elements focus on walk-to-bar areas to increase visibility and include pennants, image columns, mini countdown cards, coasters, banners, header cards and table tents.

Miller Lite and Miller Genuine Draft launch their own Cinco de Mayo celebration with Viva Cinco!--running from April 1 to May 31.

“Viva Cinco! Live for More Taste. Live for the Fiesta!” encourages consumers at on-premise accounts to make the most of their Cinco de Mayo experience by choosing Miller Lite or Miller Genuine Draft.
