Coors Named One of the Best 30 Companies for Diversity

Coors Brewing Co. was recognized by Black Enterprise magazine as one of the nation's 30 Best Companies for Diversity.

In a special report to be published in the magazine's July issue, the 30 Best Companies for Diversity are identified as outperforming other corporations in their peer group in four key diversity areas -- corporate procurement, corporate boards, senior management and total workforce diversity. Coors also received accolades for its diversity strength in its senior management and board of directors.

"It is an honor for Coors to be recognized for the ways in which our company actively promotes and embraces diversity in the workplace and the community," said Frits van Paaschen, Coors president and CEO. "At Coors, diversity is not a program -- it is part of the way we do business every day. And, that commitment contributes to our success and makes us more competitive in the marketplace."

To determine the 30 Best Companies for Diversity, Black Enterprise magazine solicited surveys in a comprehensive outreach effort to CEOs and diversity executives of the nation's top 1,000 publicly traded companies, as well as diversity executives of the 50 leading global companies with major U.S. operations.

Quantitative assessments were made for each survey category with follow-up validations to various contacts including corporate diversity officers, senior managers, minority suppliers and third party experts.
