Former U.S. Secretary of State named keynote speaker.

ARLINGTON, Va. -- General Colin L. Powell (Ret.) has been named the opening keynote speaker at the 2007 National Grocers Association (NGA) Annual Convention and Supermarket Synergy Showcase, held Jan. 29 to Feb. 1 at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas.

Powell was chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and played a role in Operation Desert Storm. He has spoken at the NGA Convention before, when he retired from the Army in 1998.
