Cody's C-stores Gets New President

SPRINFFIELD, Mo. -- Cody's Convenience Stores named Curtis A. Jared its new president and chief operating officer. Prior to accepting the position, Jared was the executive vice president for Jared Enterprises Inc., parent company of Cody's.

According to the Drury Mirror, the 34-store chain began operations in 2002 with the purchase of a single store near Rogersville, Mo. Jared, 28, is the grandson of Consumers Markets' founder Clarence Wheeler. Last year, he told The Springfield Business Journal he plans to have a store in every town in southwest Missouri.

Cody's currently operates stores located in eight counties and fourteen cities in southwest Missouri and is the largest convenience store chain in this part of the state, reported the Drury Mirror. Two additional stores are slated to open in Springfield this spring and two more in the fall.

Last year, the Springfield Business Journal named Cody's one of its "Dynamic Dozen," an award presented to businesses in Southwest Missouri that have demonstrated the greatest revenue growth for the past two years.
