Clipper Petroleum First in Country to Offer Purchase@Pump

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Clipper Petroleum Inc. is the first convenience store retailer to install Purchase@Pump from Gilbarco Veeder-Root.

Purchase@Pump is designed to increase in-store sales by adding the ability for customers to purchase high-margin products and services directly from the pump. According to Gilbarco, the turnkey solution also minimizes transaction fees by combining fuel and merchandise purchases into one payment transaction.

"Clipper has been rolling out Gilbarco's Applause TV media at the pump solution at our sites during the past year," said Ed Hong, vice president of retail operations for Clipper Petroleum. "So, we were eager to add Impulse and Purchase@Pump."

Clipper Petroleum also installed Gilbarco's Impulse, an upselling and customer engagement product.

"Impulse is the only countertop upsell product in the industry that is 100 percent focused on delivering the right targeted upsell to each individual consumer, leading to increased sales opportunities and proven results," said Travis Bouck, vice president, North America for Gilbarco.

Purchase@Pump and Impulse will be on display at Greensboro, N.C.-based Gilbarco Veeder-Root's booth at the NACS Show in Atlanta next week.

Flowery Branch, Ga.-based Clipper Petroleum Inc. operates 29 convenience stores in Georgia and South Carolina under the On the Run, Circle M and Subway brands.
