CHS' Mountain Mudd Espresso to Open in Canada

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- CHS Inc.’s Mountain Mudd Espresso drive-thru specialty coffee brand will soon make its first appearance in Canada, with summer kiosk openings planned for the country’s second largest amusement park. The first Mountain Mudd kiosk will ship in mid-May to La Ronde in Monteal, Quebec, where it will be the first coffee drive-thru location of its kind in the popular amusement park, CHS announced.

Murray Schwartz and his son Joshua Schwartz—principal owners of 7117370 Canada Inc. in Cote-St-Luc—recently signed a Mountain Mudd master franchise agreement for Quebec. The agreement calls for 26 kiosks to be shipped to Quebec over the next four years, with the first two units slated for La Ronde amusement park.

The Schwartzes also agreed to become the first area developer for Mountain Mudd. They will represent the brand in Vermont, where they will open one kiosk and assist other Mountain Mudd owners and operators throughout the state, CHS stated.

"We’re excited about the expansion of the Mountain Mudd brand into Canada and its planned growth in the northeastern United States," stated Don Olson, senior vice president of refined fuels, CHS, which owns Mountain Mudd. "This agreement is the largest Mountain Mudd contract with a single entity in the brand’s 15-year history."

Contracts are pending with potential Mountain Mudd operators in nine other countries. Mountain Mudd is a brand of CHS Inc. More information about the specialty coffee brand, locations and business opportunities can be found at www.mountainmudd.com.
