CBC Learning Center to Increase Retailer Seminars

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- CBC Learning Center intends to significantly grow the number of training seminars it offers to convenience store retailers. Tom Terrono, CBC's top seminar instructor, was named director of the CBC Learning Center and will lead the expansion efforts.

Terrono will be responsible for maintaining personal contact with members of CBC's client base, managing a team of classroom seminar instructors and still teaching courses himself.

CBC courses are all designed and taught by c-store retailers. Among the courses offered now are reducing inventory shrink, controlling expenses and increasing store traffic. CITGO, ConocoPhillips and Marathon Petroleum are among those who have employed CBC for their learning needs.

"By combining these efforts under Tom and his new team, we feel that this will provide an even greater level of real-world help to owners and their employees, with the end goal of increasing profitability, growing sales and reducing expenses," said Joe Lanphier, president of CBC.

In addition to full-day training seminars, CBC also provides printed reference guides and computer-training courses on topics such as employee theft protection, PCI compliance and new employee orientation.
