Casey's General Stores Setting Up Shop in Kentucky

ANKENY, Iowa -- The Kentucky convenience store scene is getting one more player now that Casey's General Stores has completed its final due diligence on its first store in the state.

Casey's plans to break ground on the c-store in Cadiz, Ky. later this month. It will mark the 12th state where Casey's has retail operations, the company said.

"We are excited about continuing the development of our store expansion into other states," said Robert Myers, president and CEO of Casey's General Stores Inc. "We plan to open our store in Cadiz later this summer, with additional sites in Paducah and Henderson to be built later in the year. We believe there are many communities in this state that fit perfectly with our business model."

The company also has land under contract in Tennessee with plans to break ground next fiscal year as well. As of Jan. 31, the locally headquartered convenience retailer owned and operated 1,686 stores in 11 states.
