Casey's General Employees Join Wellness Challenge

AMES, Iowa -- At the beginning of this month, participants in the Live Healthy Iowa 100 Day Wellness Challenge hit the halfway point, and of the 19,695 participants, a total of 25,317,375 minutes of activity were logged, and 60,263 pounds have been lost, according to a report in the Cherokee Chronicle Times.

Participating employees of convenience store operator Casey's General Stores Inc. have lost a total of 1,465 pounds, while participants in the Live Healthy Cass County Challenge recorded more than 480,000 minutes of activity. The University of Iowa has nearly 1,000 faculty and staff taking part, and Opportunity Village in Clear Lake has 37 teams, the report stated.

For $20, paid participants receive weekly motivational e-mails, a training T-shirt, access to a personal dashboard with daily journal, and access to the leader boards. They also receive a one-year subscription to their choice of 10 lifestyle magazines upon logging into their personal dashboard.
