Budweiser Introduces "Bowtie" Can Design

ST. LOUIS -- A new design will appear on Budweiser beer cans and secondary packaging starting this summer in the United States and later in 2011 around the world, announced brewer Anheuser-Busch.

The new design features Budweiser's iconic bowtie, along with the Budweiser creed and the Anheuser-Busch medallion. It is the 12th design to be used since the company began offering canned Budweiser in 1936.

"Budweiser's success is rooted in aspects of the beer that will never change -- a crisp, refreshing taste, an unwavering commitment to quality and the enormous pride we take in each batch," said Rob McCarthy, vice president, Budweiser. "Our refreshed packaging design gives Budweiser an updated look, which dramatizes the iconic Budweiser bowtie and incorporates the brand hallmarks that loyal Budweiser drinkers will recognize and appreciate."

The can and secondary packaging design will be the global standard as the Budwiser brands expands internationally, the company said.
