Larry Miller Named Retailer Liaison for CSNews Fuels & Tech Summit

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Convenience Store News is pleased to announce it has retained Larry Miller, a long-time convenience store industry executive, as retailer liaison for the inaugural CSNews Fuels & Tech Summit.

The event, being held Dec. 8-9 at the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa in Riviera Beach, Fla., is designed to explore both the present and future challenges in two connected and rapidly evolving areas with enormous implications on the future of c-store retailing.

The CSNews Fuels & Tech Summit is an exclusive gathering of the convenience industry’s most influential fuels and technology retailers. The Summit will provide a forum to facilitate the exchange of ”ahead of what’s next” insights, innovative concepts, fresh ideas, proven strategies and best-in-class operations tactics from today’s thought leaders.

Miller is president of Miller Management Consulting Services Inc., which has been serving retailer and supplier clients for more than 21 years. As retailer liaison, he will assist CSNews' Editorial Director Don Longo in developing content and programming, recruiting speakers and attendees, and moderating the event.

The Summit will consist of two separate, concurrent tracks. One will focus on motor fuels, covering current challenges as well as the evolving markets for alternative fuels and what fuels retailers should be exploring. The other track will focus on technology, covering such topics as card payments, data security, PCI compliance, point-of-sale systems, business intelligence systems, and other key technology implementation challenges in the year ahead.

There will also be general sessions covering “bridge” topics such as loyalty programs, mobile payments and a preview of what the convenience store of the future might look like.

In addition, the event will feature the presentation of new, exclusive CSNews research: the 2014 Motor Fuels Study and the 2014 Technology Study. Expert presentations and open discussion will follow the presentation of these research studies.

Participation is limited to 12 retailers from the fuels side and 12 retailers from the technology side.
