CSNews Will Honor 2015 Top Women in Convenience at NACS Show

9/17/2015

LAS VEGAS — The NACS Show, the industry’s largest trade show, will provide the perfect backdrop for presentation of the 2015 Convenience Store News Top Women in Convenience awards.

Just shy of 60 of the c-store industry’s most outstanding female leaders will be honored the evening of Oct. 12 at the second-annual CSNews Top Women in Convenience awards presentation.

Sponsored by Altria Group Distribution Co., BIC Consumer Products, The Coca-Cola Co. and The Kraft Heinz Co., and presented in partnership with the Network of Executive Women (NEW), the event will recognize 58 honorees — almost double the 30 honored in 2014.

The Top Women in Convenience program celebrates a diverse array of women — from retailer, supplier and wholesaler companies — making a positive impact on the convenience retail channel.

This year, in addition to senior-level leaders (positions of vice president and above), rising stars (job titles above store manager but below vice president), and store managers, the program was expanded to also recognize mentors (women who have made an extraordinary impact on the careers of their colleagues) and single-store owners.

The honorees were chosen based on nominations received from their peers. Drawing from achievements during the previous 12 months, nominators were asked to illustrate each candidate’s innovative corporate initiatives, extraordinary financial and strategic accomplishments, astute-problem solving acumen, exceptional performance and selfless charitable participation, along with other attributes that go above and beyond the call of duty.

Judging was conducted by CSNews in conjunction with NEW and the Top Women in Convenience Advisory Board, which includes all five of last year’s Women of the Year honorees. The judging panel selected 22 senior-level leaders, five mentors, 18 rising stars, five store managers and three single-store owners to receive the esteemed title of Top Women in Convenience for 2015.

Like last year, the panel also chose five nominees as the best of the best from among all the nominations and awarded them the title of Women of the Year.

Winners were announced in the July issue of CSNews magazine, but the Oct. 12th event held at the Las Vegas Convention Center will take the recognition a step further, inviting all the honorees to gather and accept their awards and accolades in front of their peers and colleagues.
