    Designed for harsh outdoor environments, the IP54 certified Andes 3 portable printer is able to withstand adverse weather conditions and drops to concrete without diminished performance, the company, Extech Data Systems, stated. The clamshell-style paper system performs at a rate of three inches per second at a high resolution. The Andes 3 also incorporates Form Fiesta, a free Windows-based page printing utility that allows form preparation including text, barcodes and tables. The unit features a 32 Bit Microcontroller from ST Microelectronics, a 4 Megabyte Flash and 1 Megabyte SRAM memory. The lightweight printer boasts a programmable CPU with firmware, resident fonts, rotated fonts, downloadable fonts, graphics, multiple logos and barcodes. The printer is fully MS-DOS and Windows compatible with drivers for Windows 95, 98, 2000 and XP and is compliant with .NET, CE and Palm based operating systems.
