    ampm C-stores Expand Fountain

    This month, more than 900 convenience stores will add four flavors to their cold dispensed beverage lineup.

    CHICAGO -- ampm convenience stores are living up to their slogan of "Too Much Good Stuff," as the brand is expanding its fountain offering with four new flavors -- Deluge Sport Drink (Strawberry), Deluge Plus Nutrient Enhanced Water (Pomegranate Berry), Essence Green Tea and a Horchata -- which were developed specifically for ampm customers, the company stated.

    The flavors "were developed to meet our customers' need for healthier beverage alternatives that were not previously available through a fountain offer in the marketplace," Andrew Baird, vice president of marketing for BP U.S. Convenience Retail, said in a statement. "At ampm, it is all about choice -- choice in beverage flavor, size and type of ice. These new offerings now give the consumer more choices and can only be found at ampm."

    Beginning this month, more than 900 ampm stores in the Western U.S. will add the expanded line, followed by an additional 200 ampm stores in the Midwestern and Eastern U.S. in June 2008, according to the company. ampm's extensive fountain selection features at least 20 flavors of soft drinks and two types of ice -- chunk and crunch.

    The Deluge Sport Drink combines the functional benefits of hydration, refreshment and amino acids, with only half the sugar of national brands, the company stated. Deluge Plus, a nutrient-enhanced water, offers one-third less sugar than national brands and include vitamins and antioxidants, according to the company. Essence Green Tea includes honey and ginseng, while the Horchata is a sweet and creamy cinnamon rice drink, a long-time favorite among Hispanic consumers, ampm stated.
