7-Eleven a Top Sponsor for WWE's SummerSlam

DALLAS -- 7-Eleven Inc. is one of two presenting sponsors for WWE’s SummerSlam, the wresting organization's second-biggest pay-per-view event of the year, Sports Business Daily reported. The event will be held Aug. 15, at the Staples Center.

In addition to 7-Eleven, ConAgra’s Slim Jim is a presenting sponsor, while the Army National Guard is a presenting sponsor of SummerSlam Axxess fan fest. Additional sponsors include Mars’ Twix, Mattel, Topps, THQ and Syfy, the report stated.

7-Eleven is running an expanded cup promotion at its convenience stores from July 16-Aug. 31, which features WWE wrestlers such as John Cena, Triple H, Rey Mysterio and The Undertaker, The Big Show, Kofi Kingston, Edge, Randy Orton and Eve on various cups. Some cups come with codes that can be redeemed for rewards as part of a frequency loyalty program. More than one million cups are expected to be used in the promotion.

A 7-Eleven ad supporting the promotion, featuring Mysterio, will air on USA Network and Syfy during WWE programming and at live events. Barq's Root Beer is the featured Slurpee flavor during the six-week promotion. Other participating products are 7-Eleven’s 7-Select Crunch Cheese Curls and Slim Jim, the official meat snack of WWE.
