7-Eleven to Roll Out Prepaid Wireless Service Nationally

DALLAS -- 7-Eleven Inc. will launch its prepaid wireless service nationally after a successful proof-of-technology test in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. 7-Eleven is the first private brand to successfully launch its own prepaid wireless offering through Ztar Mobile, the nation's first Mobile Virtual Network Enabler.

"After a very successful proof-of-technology test in the Dallas-Fort Worth market, we are beginning a national rollout of the 7-Eleven Speak Out wireless service to the majority of our 5,300 U.S. company-operated and franchised stores," said Kevin Cooper, 7-Eleven's retail services category manager. "Ztar Mobile developed a customized, prepaid offering that is a perfect fit for the 7-Eleven customers."

7-Eleven, the largest convenience store chain in the United States, worked with Ztar Mobile to completely customize an offering that provides value and convenience to its target consumers.

"While our initial launch is with 7-Eleven, Ztar Mobile is in discussions with a number of other major national retailers to roll similar offerings out later this year," said Mark Baehr, vice president of Ztar Mobile Inc.
