7-Eleven Boosting Presence in Western Washington

DALLAS -- 7-Eleven Inc. has eight stores under construction or nearly open in Thurston and Pierce County, Wash.

"Western Washington is an aggressive growth area," Tim Bain, a 7-Eleven franchise sales representative, told newspaper. "We have a number of new stores being built and we're looking for franchisees. We still see a lot of opportunity, especially in Tacoma."

The new Tacoma-area stores are expected to open between late July and October. If franchisees have not been found, the stores will open under corporate management, according to the report.

Franchises are available for less than $200,000, Bain said, with $171,000 up front and $20,000 for initial inventory.

"We're definitely looking for new blood out there," he said. "Tacoma seems to be the one we're really targeting. We just had a meeting in Dallas [headquarters]. It's an encouraging sign when you're working for a company that's growing."
