7-Eleven Animates Pennsylvania Mom

DALLAS -- As part of 7-Eleven's promotion this summer that transformed 12 of its stores into the Kwik-E-Mart from the FOX TV show "The Simpsons," the convenience chain awarded Cheryl Yex, of West Newton, Pa., with the grand prize from the promotion's Get Animated online contest, the company stated.

Yex, a mother and stepmother of two teenagers, was awarded with a trip for two to Los Angeles to meet the show's creative team, and the chance to be drawn into an episode of "The Simpsons."

"My kids love 'The Simpsons,' and I began watching it with them," Yex said. "They think this is all pretty cool."

The Get Animated contest was part of the company's promotion for "The Simpsons Movie," which was released by Twentieth Century Fox Studios July 27.

When she saw "Instant Win" appear on her computer, Yex fell out of her chair, according to the company. "I couldn't believe it," Yex said in a statement. "I was just trying to win one of 'The Simpsons Movie' Kwik-E-Mart smocks."

While she hopes her animated self will not be too goofy, Yex said she couldn't think of any Simpsons characters who don't fit that description, the company stated. "Maybe they can draw me into a scene at Moe's Bar or even better, the Kwik-E-Mart," she said.
